Dr. Edwin Lewandowski is a General Dentist at Thornhill Dental in Thornhill
Born and raised in Montreal, I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Western Ontario and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University. Graduating with honours in Prosthodontics, today I practice with a love for dental prosthodontics such as dental implants, cosmetic procedures (veneers and bonding), removable dentures, and full mouth reconstruction (smile makeovers).
After graduating from dental school in 1997, I completed a one-year post-graduate general practice residency at Lennox Hill Hospital in New York City. Working in a busy hospital-based dental clinic, I gained valuable experience treating simple and complex dental emergencies, facial traumas, and dental oral surgery, all of which gave me the skills and confidence to practice today.
I have completed the United States North East Regional Dental Examining Board and the National Dental Examining Board in Canada. I am licensed by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and The College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia.
I was a part-time instructor at New York University College of Dentistry, Department of Restorative Dentistry, and in the Department of Prosthodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Toronto. As well, I am active with the York Region Dental Society and have been a member of the General Council of the Ontario Dental Association. Throughout the years, I have held multiple positions in various dental study clubs. I am a member of the Canadian Dental Association, Ontario Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
I obtained advanced training in TMJ disorders and for many years have acted as an expert assessor with motor vehicle accident injury claims. I maintain a full-time private general practice in Thornhill, Ontario. I run this busy family practice with multiple hygienists; my practice has grown every year since I opened in 2000. I have a loyal following of patients and staff, built on trust, and a conservative approach to practice. I work closely with and have a strong referral network with dental specialists as needed.
I have embraced Digital dentistry in my office. Using digital impression techniques and in-office equipment, since 2012, I have completed thousands of one appointment, in-office porcelain crown procedures. The technology called CEREC has been a game-changer for dentistry and the way I practice today.
I am always available for new patients, dental emergencies, or just a consultation.
